Finding jobs for everyone

So if there's so much unemployment out there why don't we just switch to a five hour work standard, three days a week. That way there's stuff for everyone to do plus people have to waste less time at work.

Oh but wait, "society" says we do it the way we've always done it for no reason, or thought put to it, as to how, why or if there's room for improvement.

And don't say there's not enough money to pay people. Money is an artificial and made up concept, if we need more we can invent more just like how we invented it originally.

REPOST EDIT - I notice as I post all these together that I must seem really dead set against society at large. Maybe I'll write about that at some point but while I'm not blind to the benefits of modern society when compared to any number of times in our past,  really my point is that we're advanced enough as a species now that we need to start looking at everything we do and pick and choose which of these societal foundations are still valid and good for everyone and which are terribly terribly outdated due to changes in time, culture, population, technologies, etc, etc, etc. There are things we do that take no consideration of the actual real world but because they made sense when we first started doing them people keep doing them with no pause to stop and ask why they're doing it, if they should still be doing it or if there's a better way to do it. And that drives me fucking nuts :p
